Sometimes you get a ‘USB device not recognized’ error when you connect a new USB/ key board/ camera/ phone etc with you computer. The error may suggest that the ‘USB connected with this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it‘. Some online solution to this problem suggest to go in ‘Device Manager‘ and uninstall all the devices under USB controller and then restart the computer and reinstall the USB drivers, but this does not solve the problem. You may also see in Device Manager that the device shows up as an “Unknown Device”.

There is a super easy solution to this problem. Yo do not nee to reinstall drivers or edit registry for this. Just unplug your system from power supply and you are done. Yes it is that simple. Note that unplug your system does not mean just turning your system off, modern computers do not really get turned off when we press the power button because motherboards still get some power.
Motherboard is where all hardware of computer is connected. Sometimes it needs to be rebooted so if anything goes wrong, it gets the thing fixed. So when you unplug the power supply, the motherboard reboots and any problem (like something wrong in drivers) gets fixed automatically as it reboots drivers and USB starts working.
So first turn off your computer (using ‘Shut Down’ or pressing the power button) and then unplug it from wall outlet. Wait a minute and plug it back again.
This is an easy solution for ‘USB device not recognized‘ problem or Unknown Device problem in Windows.
