Hide Drives in Windows XP or Vista

Some computer users want to hide specific drives so others can not access their private data. You may want to hide specific partition of you hard drive like C, D, and E etc. This is really useful when you have a partition with some private data in it which you do not share with other users of your computer.
Here I will tell you two easy ways to hide a specific partition of your hard drive from other users.

Hide Drives Using Command Prompt (For Windows XP and Vista).

  • Open START menu, click RUN and type “diskpart” and press Enter.
  • A DOS window will popup, type “list volume” and press ENTER.

  • Type remove letter D and press ENTER (It will hide D drive). If the system reboots it will not make any effect and nothing will loose so it is normal.
  • If you want to unhide the drive back to its original position, type assign letter D (It will show D drive again as normal).

Hide Drives Using TweakUL (For Windows XP)

  • Download FREE software TweakUL from HERE

and install it in your computer.

  • Run TweakUL after installation and go to My Computer -> Drives.
  • Uncheck the drives that you want to hide and click APPLY button at the bottom.
  • Now you will not see those drives that you unchecked when you will open My Computer.

So Windows XP and Vista users can use any method of the above and hide their private partition of disk to avoid other to notice them.
