Reveal Hidden Themes In Windows 7

Windows 7 has 4 to 5 themes by default after installation. If you want to have more themes in Windows 7 to personalize your computer, there are some hidden themes in Windows 7 which you can unlock and use. These themes are available for some regional countries like UK, Australia, Canada and US and locked for others.

To unlock and reveal the hidden regional themes in Windows 7, follow these

• Open Windows Explorer
• Click Organize and select Folder and search options.
• Go to Web menu, select show hidden files, folders and drivers and uncheck Hide protected operating system files (click yes, if prompted with confirmation).
• Click OK
• Browse the folder \Windows\Globalization\MCT\
• There are five folders in the name with format MCT-XX (where XX is AU, CA, GB, US, or ZA)which represent the regions. Go in any the folder to activate the themes (Remember AU, ZA, CA have same region themes).
• Double click on XX.theme file to apply theme to Windows 7 desktop system. Once theme is run and activated, it will be saved in your personalize options.

After you have unlocked these themes, you will be able to see more theme options in your personalize selection.
